Please make sure to read our policies thoroughly. (Last updated August, 2026)
General School Policies
class Registration
Most classes require preregistration. Unless otherwise noted, registration closes 24 hours before the class begins. If minimum enrollment is not met, you will be notified by email after registration closes and will receive a full refund.
Multi-Day Camps
For multi-day camps, we aim to notify families by email approximately 72 hours before the camp begins if minimum enrollment has not yet been met. Registration will generally remain open until 24 hours before the start of camp to allow additional time for enrollment.
Waitlist
If a class is sold out, you may request to join the waitlist by emailing info@rosellefa.com. Please include the class details, the number of requested registrations, each participant’s name and age, and your preferred contact information.
If a space becomes available, we will contact you. You will have 24 hours to respond before the space is offered to the next person on the waitlist.
Class Cancellations & No-Shows
We understand that unexpected circumstances arise and plans change. However, class supplies are often purchased in advance, and cancellations at short notice may affect minimum enrollment or result in unnecessary travel for instructors. For these reasons, most classes are nonrefundable. If someone on the waitlist fills your spot, you may receive a refund, less a $5 administration fee.
Single-Day Events
Cancellation credits are based on when we receive your notification:
At least 72 hours before the event: You will receive a credit toward a future class, less a $5 administration fee.
Less than 72 hours before the event, but no later than the day before: You will receive a 50% credit, less a $5 administration fee.
Same-day cancellations or no-shows: No refunds or credits will be issued.
Credits may be applied toward future events and must be used within six months.
If you notify us before the class, a take-home kit may be available in place of a credit. Kits are offered on a case-by-case basis, depending on the event, and are not always available. All kits must be picked up within two weeks.
Multi-Day Classes, Lessons, Workshops & Camps
Cancellation deadlines are measured from the start of the first scheduled session:
At least five days in advance: You will receive a credit toward a future class, less a $5 administration fee.
At least 72 hours but fewer than five days in advance: You may receive a 50% credit, less a $5 administration fee.
Less than 72 hours in advance or after the program has begun: No refunds or credits will be issued.
Transfers to a similar class may be permitted if space is available. Transfer requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Academy Cancellations & Inclement Weather
If we must cancel a class due to unforeseen circumstances, we will notify you as soon as possible and refund the amount paid for the affected day’s class.
During inclement weather, each instructor will determine whether their classes will proceed. If a class takes place as scheduled, refunds will not be issued for nonattendance.
Conduct
We are committed to maintaining a safe, welcoming, and respectful environment for all students, families, and instructors. Bullying, property damage, and disruptive or uncontrolled behavior are not permitted.
If a child disrupts a class, the instructor may contact a parent or guardian to request early pickup or discuss the concern after class. If the behavior continues in subsequent classes, the instructor may require a parent or guardian to attend with the child, or the child may no longer be permitted to participate.
These expectations apply equally to adults. Everyone is expected to treat others with courtesy and respect. Offensive, hostile, intimidating, vulgar, or sexually explicit language is prohibited, as is sexual harassment. Disrespect, harm, or harassment directed toward instructors or fellow students will not be tolerated.
All participants are expected to contribute to a positive learning environment. Repeated violations of this policy will result in a permanent ban from our facility.
ALLERGIES AND SPECIAL NEEDS
If you or your child has any special needs or limitations (whether physical, developmental, emotional, or psychological), please let us know so our teachers can be made aware and try to accommodate them.
Our facility is on the second floor of an historic building. We also utilize the basement for some classes. These areas are not handicap accessible.
Some art supplies contain allergens (e.g., honey, latex, eggs, gluten), and while we won’t be eating them, a student may come in contact with something on their skin or something airborne. If your child has any known allergies, please let us know on the registration form or immediately after registration via email to info@rosellefa.com.
Also note that the chocolate shop downstairs has free samples near the front door, which are tempting to children (and adults). If your child is not allowed to eat a sample due to allergies or other dietary restrictions, it is advised that you drop off and pick up your child directly at the classroom instead of dropping off/picking up outside the building.
Privacy
We don’t like being spammed either, so we won’t bombard you with emails. We typically send 2-3 emails per month, notifying you of upcoming events or policy changes. We never give your information to anyone else.
Photography
We will often take pictures during our classes and events of students for use in print or social media. If you do not want your or your child’s photo taken or used publicly, please make us aware at the beginning of the class/event. If we use a photo, we will not identify you in the photo by name, unless it is a special announcement (e.g., winner of an award).
Ceramics Studio Guidelines
For everyone’s safety, all students are expected to review and follow these studio guidelines:
Follow instructor guidance. Observe all instructions and safety warnings provided by your instructor.
Remain in designated areas. Stay in the classroom area. Students may enter the kiln room only to use the utility sink.
Respect equipment and others’ work. Do not touch the kiln or other students’ pieces on tables or shelves.
Prepare for wheel throwing. Tie back long hair, secure loose sleeves above the wrists, and remove all jewelry before using the pottery wheel.
Use equipment only under supervision. An instructor must be present whenever equipment is in use.
Dress for working with clay. Wear older, comfortable clothing that can get messy. Aprons are provided but do not offer complete coverage. Clay is water-soluble and usually does not stain.
Wear appropriate footwear. Choose shoes suitable for studio work, as floors may become wet and slippery.
Create all work in our studio. We only fire pieces made during our classes or monitored open studio sessions. We cannot accommodate work created at home or elsewhere.
Use the studio for educational purposes. Our ceramics studio is a teaching facility, not a substitute for rented commercial studio space. The studio, kiln, equipment, and glazes may not be used to produce large quantities of work for sale. Restrictions will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may include limits on firing and clay usage.
Pottery Pickup
You will be notified by phone or email when your pieces are ready for pickup, typically within 14 days unless otherwise stated during class. We make every effort to complete work promptly, but specific completion dates cannot be guaranteed. Drying conditions and kiln availability may extend the timeline. We will notify you if substantial delays occur.
All completed work must be picked up within 60 days of notification. If you need additional time, please contact us to make arrangements. We are happy to accommodate reasonable requests.
Roselle Fine Arts Academy is not responsible for pottery left beyond the 60-day pickup period without prior arrangements. Unclaimed pieces may be donated, repurposed for mosaics, or used as studio samples.
Understanding the Ceramics Process
Ceramics is an unpredictable medium, and even experienced artists encounter unexpected results. Pieces may crack during drying, crack or break apart during firing, or develop glaze defects caused by contaminants.
We understand the disappointment of a damaged piece and will help correct defects whenever possible. If a piece cannot be repaired and the damage is determined to be our responsibility, you may attend a future Ceramics Independent Studio session at no charge to remake it.
Some damage may result from improper clay wedging or joining techniques, while other issues occur through no fault of anyone. These possibilities are an inherent part of working with clay.
Except for the remake opportunity described above, Roselle Fine Arts Academy is not responsible for broken or damaged work or pieces that do not meet your expectations.
Art Studio Guidelines
To help maintain a comfortable, safe, and welcoming environment, all students are expected to review and follow these studio guidelines:

Dress for creativity. Wear older, comfortable clothing that can get messy. Acrylic paints, other paints, and inks may permanently stain fabric. Aprons are provided but do not offer complete coverage. Long sleeves should comfortably roll or push up above the elbows, and long hair should be tied back whenever possible.
Use equipment only under supervision. An instructor must be present whenever equipment is in use.
Be mindful of safety. We take precautions to maintain a safe studio and provide tools and supplies appropriate for each age group. However, accidents can still occur. Please review the legal section below for information regarding liability.
Support fellow artists. Unsolicited critiques of others’ artwork are not permitted. When someone requests your opinion, offer feedback with kindness and respect.
Respect others’ artwork. Never touch another student’s work without permission.
Respect personal workspace. Be mindful of your movements and materials to avoid interfering with neighboring students or their artwork.
Share supplies courteously. Before taking a shared item, ask the person using it whether they are finished and whether you may use it.
Keep noise at a considerate level. Our studio is located in a 100-year-old house with thin walls, and sound travels easily to nearby lessons and the shop downstairs. Some students are also sensitive to noise. Please keep conversations at a moderate volume and promptly honor requests to lower your voice.
Use the studio for educational purposes. Our art studio is a teaching facility, not a substitute for rented commercial studio space. The studio and its supplies may not be used to produce large quantities of work for sale. Restrictions on this use will be determined as needed on a case-by-case basis.
Artwork left at the academy after a class must be picked up within 60 days.
Occasionally, we may request permission to retain artwork created in class for a temporary display at the academy. Artwork included in these displays will be returned when the display concludes.

Additional travel/setup fees may be assessed for on-site services at your site or third-party venue. This will be communicated to you at time of booking.
RoselleFA shall not be liable for any failure or delay in service delivery due to any cause beyond our control. If our ability to render services is impaired by your failure to cooperate, dangerous working conditions, or code violations, or circumstances beyond our control, we may choose not to provide services.
WAIVER OF LIABILITY
Participation in our art and ceramics programs may involve some risk of personal injury. Students assume all risks related to these activities. The student agrees, without exception, to indemnify, protect and hold harmless Roselle Fine Arts Academy (RoselleFA) and its agents, successors and assigns from and against any and all losses, damages, suits, claims, demands, costs, and charges that RoselleFA may directly or indirectly suffer, sustain or be subjected to, by, or on account of (i) the student’s entry upon, occupancy, or use of the facility and/or its equipment; or (ii) the student’s conduct in the facility – whether such losses or damages are sustained by RoselleFA directly, or by other persons or entities (including employees or independent contractors associated with RoselleFA), who may seek to hold RoselleFA liable.
Under no circumstances shall RoselleFA be liable to you or any other person for any damages, including without limitation any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, expenses, lost savings or earnings, or other liability arising out of or related to the products and services provided by RoselleFA.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold RoselleFA, its officers, directors, employees, and other acting on our behalf to provide services to you harmless from any claim or demand (including attorneys fees) made or incurred by any third party due to or arising out of your breach of this agreement and/or your use of our products and services.
NO WAIVER:
Our failure to act with respect to a breach by you or others does not waive our right to act with respect to subsequent or similar breaches.
